When Spanish conquistadors came ashore in 1511, Belize had been populated for centuries by thriving Maya communities. On this trip you will learn about the complicated history that led to the creation of this English-speaking country. Once you’ve gained a solid grasp of Belize’s cultural identity, your time with the local teachers will enable relevant, responsive coaching. T2TGlobal’s partner on this trip is the Toledo District Ministry of Education.

Today you and your group will make a day trip to Caye Caulker, a beautiful island about 20 miles north of Belize City. A lunch of fresh seafood will restore your energy for your travel back to the Nature Resort later in the day.

You will spend the rest of the day preparing for the week ahead.
