Cerah Churchwright provides online CEU course development support for T2TGlobal. She is an elementary teacher in Durham Public Schools with a passion for mathematics pedagogy. She develops math lesson plans for her grade-level team and is working on increasing her knowledge of online pedagogical practices. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology with an emphasis on critical social theory and earned her Master’s Degree in Teaching from Meredith College in Raleigh, NC.
Jonathan Drake is T2TGlobal’s photographer who was a foreign correspondent based in East Asia for two decades. He has covered stories as varied as natural disasters, global conflicts, sports, and politics, while his travels have taken him from Afghanistan to Japan and from Australia to Argentina. After working for wire agencies such as Reuters, Associated Press, and Bloomberg for many years, Jonathan relocated to his hometown of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, with his wife and two daughters.
Ron Link is T2TGlobal’s Legal Advisor as well as a Professor Emeritus and the former Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Acting Dean at the School of Law at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His teaching interests were trusts and estates, estate planning, and property. Formerly he was Chair of the Association of American Law Schools Section on Donative Transfers, Fiduciaries and Estate Planning, was an advisor to the ALI Restatement (Third) of Property – Donative Transfers, was an Academic Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, and was Chair of the Trusts Drafting Committee of the North Carolina General Statutes Commission. He co-authored the 6th edition of Problems and Materials on Decedents Estates and Trusts. Ron serves on various nonprofit boards and is currently Chair of the Board of the North Carolina Institute for Constitutional Law.
Ariel Marin provides operational support for T2TGlobal’s programs in Nepal. She is a true global educator, having taught in countries as diverse as Ecuador, China, Kuwait, along with the US. She has coached teachers in bringing communicative strategies into the language learning classroom. Currently she is in a Master’s program for Applied Linguistics through the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom.
Raphine Muga is T2TGlobal’s Kenya Country Representative who graduated from Uzima University College in Kisumu, Kenya, with a Diploma in Development Studies. He has had the opportunity to work in various fields including education, agriculture and environment, notably as a Research Assistant in various HIV related studies. Raphine feels that his experiences have outlined a lack of education services designed to provide global professional development opportunities for teachers, and he has chosen to work with T2TGlobal because he feels that it offers innovative solutions in this area. Raphine lives in Kisumu and is looking forward to exploring other parts of the world.
Carol Russell is T2TGlobal’s Mathematical Tasks Master who has extensive knowledge and experience in mathematics education. While teaching middle and high school mathematics, Carol took an active role in large NSF-funded projects that focused on improving the content and pedagogical knowledge of mathematics teachers. Her experience includes mathematics coaching, curriculum and instruction supervision at the district level and middle school principalship. She designed and facilitated systemic research-based professional development for teachers and other administrators and presented multiple times at National Council for Teachers of Mathematics and National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics conferences. Her focus has remained on active student engagement in meaningful mathematics tasks and observing evidence of student understanding of concepts.
Chris Sherman is Financial Advisor, with more than 10 years of experience in finance and operations management. He is co-owner and Director of Finance at Harmony Music Studios in Chapel Hill, NC, and he provides financial consulting to individuals, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations. Chris earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California at Riverside, a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Certificate in Financial Planning from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC.
